A Myrtle Beach man is arrested after police say he faked an armed robbery at the restaurant he managed. Lucious Taylor told police on Dec. 16, that he was robbed at gunpoint at the Red Robin near Coastal Grand mall.

He told police that he was waiting for a cleaning crew to arrive just before 7 a.m., when an armed man forced him inside and ordered him to empty out the restaurant safe. Taylor told police the man then ran off with just over $2,200.

Taylor filed a police report that day, but it was brought in for more questioning this week and admitted to police that he made up the whole thing in order to use the money for his own use.

Taylor is now charged with filing a false police report and breach of trust with fraudulent intent.
