One dead in Georgetown crash

One person died in a weekend crash in Georgetown County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Wedgefield Plantation, about 3 miles north of the city of Georgetown.
Troopers said the driver of a car headed east, ran off the road and struck a tree.
Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson identified the driver as Brenda Johnson, 63, of Georgetown County.
Troopers said Johnson was not wearing a seatbelt and the incident remains under investigation.
