Low-cost air carrier adds second city with service to Myrtle Beach

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air announced its second non-stop flight to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, one day after announcing non-stop flights between Huntington, West Virginia and Myrtle Beach International Airport.

The low-cost airline will now feature non-stop flights to and from Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The flights, as low as $49 per one way ticket, will start along with the Huntington flights on May 3.

The service will feature two flights weekly between Lehigh Valley International Airport and Myrtle Beach.

According to a press release issued Wednesday morning, the airline will run flights with service Thursday and Sunday, departing Lehigh Valley at 10:55 a.m., and arriving in Myrtle Beach at 12:30 p.m. Flights leaving Myrtle Beach will depart at 11:30 a.m., and arrive in Lehigh Valley at 1:05 p.m.

Allegiant Air also offers flights to two other destinations from the Lehigh Valley with nonstop service Orlando, Fla. and the Tampa Bay area.
