Local restaurant, businesses host firefighter appreciation fundraiser

Gordon Biersch Brewery & Restaurant will host a Sommerbrau tapping party in appreciation of our local firefighters’ efforts during the recent wildfires.
According to a news release from Collins + Company Advertising, the event’s proceeds will go to the firefighters’ charity of choice, the South Carolina Burned Children’s Fund.

The fundraiser is planned for Tuesday, June 23, beginning at 5:30pm, the event will include complimentary beer and picnic buffet for Passport members or with suggested donations.

The Potato Heads band will perform from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

Four-person relay races and a watermelon-eating contest will begin at 7:30pm. All contest proceeds will go to the charity.

FSA-Full Steam Ahead, Inc. and South Atlantic Bank are also sponsoring the event.
