Horry County police say they have seen more car break-ins recently. They want to remind residents to be especially careful about leaving valuable items in their cars.
A person’s chance of having their vehicles broken into increases if valuables (such as GPS units, laptop computers, and pocketbooks) are left out where people can see them, police say.
Police say the break-ins are more evident in the southern region of Horry County, most of them occurring during the night-time hours.
They encourage anyone whose car is broken into or who sees anything suspicious to call police at 248-1520.
