Horry County Police arrest teen in sexual assault case

Horry County Police arrested a Nichols teen for sexually assaulting a 5 year-old child.

According to a press release, officers were sent to an address on Hwy. 410 in the Loris section of Horry County in reference to a sexual assault around 11 p.m. Monday.

Upon their arrival, a five year old victim was located.  The victim reported that she was sexually assaulted by a 16 year-old at a different location within Horry County earlier in the evening. 

Police arrested 16 year-old Mequaia Denzle Haywood.  He is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor 1st degree.

Haywood is charged as an adult in connection with this incident.
