Horry County council is one step closer to passing its next budget for July 2009-July 2010.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, members voted unanimously to pass the second reading of the budget.
While there are no tax hikes, the county plans to raise revenue by charging more for EMS fees.
Public Information Officer Lisa Bourcier said right now EMS fees are charged a la carte. Bourcier said if the budget is approved, there would be three levels of bills, depending on the care you receive.
A third reading of the budget is required before it is approved.
