First Atlantic Beach meeting since mayor’s suspension to be Monday

The Town of Atlantic Beach will hold its General Session Meeting on Monday, 3 days after Mayor Retha Pierce was suspended from office.

An Executive Session begins at 6 p.m.; and the General Session is at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the general session.

This is the first meeting that Mayor Pro Tem Charlene Taylor is expected to preside over.

Town Manager, William Booker, told News13 Taylor now takes over the mayoral position, following Pierce’s suspension.

No specifics are listed on the meeting’s agenda, but there is a time scheduled to review the Town Manager Report, Police Report, and Mayor’s Report.

The meeting will be held at the Atlantic Beach Community Center, located at 1010 32nd Ave. South in Atlantic Beach.
