Digital converter boxes are still available, as are government-funded coupons, good for the purchase of the equipment to get TVs ready for digital-only broadcasting.
The FCC continues its massive public relations campaign in advance of the federally-mandated digital television transition.
A representative from Washington, D.C. manned two DTV clinics at area Radio Shack stores on Thursday.
“We give it our best effort to reach as many people as possible,“ said JoAnn Smith, a member of the FCC’s transition team. “We’re on the ground all over the country, actually, and we’re hoping that the visibility stations are giving to the issue will get everyone ready for the transition.“
In addition to explaining how to set up converter boxes (used to convert over-the-air signals into compatible signals for televisions not connected to cable or satellite receivers), Smith said coupons are still available.
The coupons are good toward the purchase of the converter boxes, and she said they will be mailed out within a couple of weeks, but are not available before Friday night’s anticipated digital switch.

I have a converter box and digital antenna. I got Ch 13 yesterday(friday) but not today.. I get 15 and ETV and Fox OK…But not 13 or My 13??????
