Dead Dog Saloon hosts 8th Annual 9-11 Benefit
The Dead Dog Saloon in Murrells Inlet will be holding its 8th Annual 9-11 Benefit on Friday, Sept.11. The theme of this year’s fundraiser will be Honoring America’s Heroes. Free food will be served all day and night. Proceeds from the event benefit Georgetown Sheriff’s Office’s Shop with Santa Program and Horry-Georgetown Counties’ Fire & Safety Expo.
Each year the event has grown larger and has allowed the Dead Dog Saloon to donate more than $100,000 to local programs.
Ed Piotrowski, Mixin’ Dixon and Cecil Chandler will be celebrity emcees.
Live entertainment will be provided by over a dozen of the Grand Strand’s finest bands, including The Mullets, The Necessary Band, Black Label, Band on the Rum, The George Davis Band, Bil Krauss, Not Yet Rated, Act III, Paul Grimshaw, Gabby Rae and many others.
The event will feature prizes, auctions, giveaway and raffles.
Doors open at 10 a.m. with live music beginning at 11. Formal ceremonies will be at 1 p.m. and include The Rolling Thunder Color Guard and representatives from the American Legion.
