Conway couple dies after crash

A Conway couple died after a wreck Wednesday in Georgetown County.

Highway Patrol officials said the driver ran the car off of Highway 701 and hit a tree about 5:45 p.m.

The passenger died at the scene.

Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson identified the woman as Sharon Cook, 63.

Johnson said her 70 year old husband, Thomas E. Cook, died at the Medical University of South Carolina from head injuries just before midnight.
