Brown honored at Myrtle Beach event

An appreciation dinner for US Rep.Henry Brown was held Thursday at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach convention center hotel.
The public was invited to the free buffet while enjoying the bluegrass music of Subject To Change.
Local and state elected officials from across the Grand Strand and hundreds of supporter honored Brown, who represents South Carolina’s 1st congressional district. Brown received two national awards: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise and Ducks Unlimited’s presidential proclamation.
Brown said, “I’m pretty humbled by it, I feel like that Horry county and myrtle beach area certainly been, has got the greatest people in the world and it’s a real pleasure, I’ve had the opportunity to represent them for the last nine years and I don’t know what to expect tonight, but I’m grateful for all the help and all the efforts that’s been put forth by so many people to make this night pretty special.”
