CONWAY - Coastal Carolina University has suspended Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach Jeff Jacobs for one week following his arrest over the weekend on a charge of driving under the influence.

According to a news release from the university, Jacobs will be available for players who need information, but will not be coaching.

Jacobs has agreed to confer with a counselor.

Athletic Director Warren “Moose” Koegel says Jacobs will not coach the Chanticleers’ first meet of the season on Sept. 4 against the University of South Carolina.
