Coastal Carolina University student charged with assault and battery

Coastal Carolina University Police arrested a student in connection with an alleged simple assault and battery incident.

The incident happened in a campus residence hall.

Jeremy Demetrius Harden is charged with simple assault and battery.
University Police say the incident involved a male and a female.

Harden is from Hamlet, North Carolina.

Harden is a freshman football player at Coastal Carolina University.

He is suspended from the football team on an interim basis.

Harden is out of jail.
