A benefit golf tournament is scheduled to tee off this week to help fire victims from the Barefoot area who were impacted by the April wildfire.

According to a press release, Barefoot Resort & Golf will host the Barefoot Resort & Golf Fire Victims Pro-Am Golf Tournament on Thursday at the Fazio Course at Barefoot Resort.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Barefoot Resort & Golf Fire Victims Fund to help many of the 70 residents who lost their homes in the April 23 wildfire and did not have homeowner’s or renter’s insurance.

The 18-hole scramble tournament will begin at 10 a.m. with all teams partnered with a local head golf professional or local media and entertainment celebrity.

An awards reception will be held in the Barefoot Resort clubhouse after golf, followed by the silent auction.
“We are excited to host the Barefoot Resort & Golf Fire Victims Pro-Am Golf Tournament on the Fazio Course,” said Mike Ross, head golf professional at Barefoot Resort & Golf. “So many of our residents were affected by the April 23 wildfire, and thanks to the overwhelming support of our Myrtle Beach community, we hope that the tournament helps replace their homes and personal belongings.”
