Police say they are investigating an attempted murder that took place at the Coral Sands Motel in Myrtle Beach earlier this week.

Police say when they arrived to the call on November 26 at about 1:00 p.m., they found the victim, 47-year old Kevin Corcoran with injuries on his face and neck.  They say when they looked further for injuries, they discovered three puncture wounds near Corcoran’s rib cage.

According to the police report, Corcoran told police he allowed a man to use the bathroom in his room.  It then says that when the man came out of the bathroom, he attacked Corcoran.

Corcoran says he thinks the attacker was trying to rob him, but he had no cash on, just a bank card which he was able to keep in his possession.

Police say Corcoran gave mixed stories about the incident.  They say he told police the man that attacked him had silver hair, shorts and a grey shirt.  The police report further states a witness, 47-year old Camela Garrison, said she was the first to see Corcoran after the incident.  It then says Corcoran told Garrison two males attacked him after asking to use the bathroom.

Police say Corcoran was taken to the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Capt. David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department says a suspect was questioned, but was later released.  Police are still looking for a suspect related to this crime.
