MURRELLS INLET (AP) — As summer wanes, so does the popular Cool Summer Evenings program at a popular garden on the South Carolina coast.
This Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights are the last evenings this season where Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet will be open late until 9 p.m.
The programs include cruises down the creek, and the zoo at the gardens is open until 7 p.m. There is also new lighting.
Friday evening, as the season closes, there is live entertainment provided by the Javier Vega-Jazz trio.
The gardens were established in 1931 by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington. Brookgreen, with its extensive outdoor collection of figurative sculpture, is a national historic landmark.
