MYRTLE BEACH (AP)—The Led Zeppelin roller coaster which played “Whole Lotta Love” at the old Hard Rock Park has been renamed but will still play a whole lotta music.
Freestyle Music Park on Monday said the coaster is now called “The Time Machine” and the 1,200-watt sound system in each car will play hits from the 1960s through the present day.
The ride has five different soundtracks so repeat riders can have a different experience on the coaster which climbs 155 feet into the air and reaches 65 mph.
The park reopens May 23, the Saturday before Memorial Day.
Hard Rock Park opened last year but closed in September when its owners filed for bankruptcy protection. FPI MB Entertainment bought it for $25 million and changed the name.
