Well said Strawberry. I’ll be the first to admit mopeds, scooters, and even bicyclists can be very irritating to maneuver around on public roads and highways. However, as long as they are within the traffic laws, they have as much right to travel there as anyone. And definitely we need to watch out for them, regardless if they are legal or not. I would personally not want to have it on my conscience that I was responsible for injury or death regardless of the circumstances.

I realize that those who ride mopeds, bikes, motorcycles, may slow us down sometimes, but they deserve our respect on the road just as if they were in a car.  Hopefully these riders will have plenty of lights, however,  as we see from this article that does always happen.  Car drivers, need to be more aware, myself included, of who is riding around us.  This man in this particular story is a son, a father of two wonderful boys and a great friend to many people.  Please remember to watch carefully especially at night, lets help keep these riders safe, they are not out there to be a menace, they ae trying to get from point A to point B.

After dark, no lights, what else can you say.
Does anyone know what the speed limit on that part of 501 is? I thought that mopeds were not allowed on some parts of 501. Something needs to be done about these golf carts and mopeds. Why is it that all the so called political leaders that always talk about family friendly and public safety have done nothing to get these road menaces out of are towns and of the streets throughout all of Horry County? I think they care about money and do not care about public safety.
