After Myrtle Beach got ripped pretty well by biker and business groups over low turnout in May the Harley bikers will be having a fall rally and now Atlantic Beach is talking about doing the same thing.
The town’s council proposed the idea back in June and some businesses along US 17 say council is making a wise decision. They say it’s especially good because the town saw a big crowd during the spring rally and many of those people brought business to the area.
George Deegan of Buffalo Hot Wings Grill and Bar told News 13 that he hopes this one will also be just as successful.
“It’s good for everyone it’s good for business. We were closed for both rallies because we were under construction, but during both weekends we had people pulling into the parking lot left and right ten and twenty at a time trying to see if we were open,“ Deegan said.
Employees at Sand Beach Wear, a family-owned business for 15 years, said the spring rally gave them much needed boost in revenue and now, that there are talks to have a fall rally, they are looking forward to the business it could bring.
“The Spring rally will definitely be a good thing to have because the bikers are still welcomed here and we want their business. We see more of the biker crowds just because it’s all in one week two weeks actually and they all come at once so it’s a big profit coming in those two weeks,“ Simon Dadush, store manager, said.
While businesses say they do well because of those profits, some residents in the area complain because of the big biker crowds. Common complaints are about noise and traffic.
However News 13 also spoke with Atlantic Beach Town Manager William Booker, who is in charge of the fall rally plans and said that nothing solid is yet in place. He added that he still needs to speak with residents and other businesses about when and where the proposed fall rally may be held.

Ok. Now go back and read all my post and all of your post. It only took me four posts to get you to understand one of my points. My English skills may not live up to your standards, but at least I can usually make a point and understand the point people are trying to make. Actually I am not really sure if you do understand my points or anything I was saying, so let me at least spell out one of my latter points. The point is that just as you do not have to do, honor or respect any thing I say the same is true for others and the NAACP.
Another point is that even know the motorcycle tourist asked everyone to join them in boycotting Myrtle Beach, it was a choice and their were a few of them that did not. They stayed at Myrtle Beach hotels anyway.
They are not my biker buddies. Many of them are just a bunch of drunken redneck posers with Harleys. Face the facts. Almost everything I have said has come true and continues too. But then you are probably new to all of this and do not have a clue as to what is and what has been said. Myrtle Beach has lost all that once made it a good place. All they have done is to run the pre-season money people away and as I keep saying they will now be replaced with the younger less mature tourist. I will get over it even if I can no longer feel free or safe in Myrtle Beach again, but their many that can never get over what has happened. Even the Atlantic Beach Bike Feast is going to expand now. How long will it take for you to realize that they are angry with the kind of treatment that has been given to them and they will not spend very much money, especially in Myrtle Beach? They will not be able to run them out of town because of the NAACP. In all fairness I must say that Myrtle Beach works very hard at not openly treating any group differently because of race. We all know that any change that they do for the Atlantic Beach Rally must be done to the Harley group first, so that no one cries foul. Even Tom Chestnuts who is black was fair in blaming the murder of the Coastal Carolina student on the A.B. rally, except for the fact that their was no information what so ever that would show a connection and when it turned out to be a couple of his local high school hoodlums, he some how forgot to apologize for all of his false accusations.
You say that if I do not want you to respond then STOP calling out your name. I do want you to respond. I want you to address my points. I want you to make some points. I care more about people that actually have something to say much more than people that have little to say but have perfect English grammar. So you can spell, but how about the content. I have said a lot. But what have you said? To you really have anything to say or do you just like to pounce on others. You can go through life grouping everyone out here in to perfect little stereo types and picking at what ever it is that they are trying to say but will you ever have anything real to say?
P.S. Just what are you pretending not to know? Atlantic Beach can have lots of business because not everyone will honor or abide by what you call the NAACP’s so called orders.
You might want to get access to the local news and look at what is going on here on the Grandstand, and that is only the stuff that gets reported. You are probably like Weakfisn and think that Myrtle Beach will be better than ever. Just keep running all the money people off and see what happens.
aren’t you special! Takes a man to call a woman out like this.
So the woman will give you a few answers.
FYI: dont you know when you post here they send you an update each time a comment is made?
They really do!
You are the one who came back days later to call me out and see if you could make yourself feel big or something.
You need to just worry about your biker buddies you keep crying about.
You are a broken record; you can’t stand you lost at the beach and you can’t stand for someone, especially a woman obviously to have a real discussion or differing opinions than you.
If you don’t want me to respond then STOP calling out my name.
You need a little further education on the english language. Your comprehension skills are lacking. You are one of the ones who must tear it apart. Until you can respond intelligently to my post, you will continue to show who and what you are.
Too bad you assume you can ORDER me to do anything,
those days are long gone, brother!
I have a brain.
Maybe the next fight you choose will have some merit and accomplish something for our county, state and country.
I would imagine that no one is reading these responses or opinions any more. No one except Anglesquawk.
But I must ask where you are from that you do not understand that no one can order or tell anyone that they must join a boycott. We still have a constitution in this country, at least some of it. People like you that do not speak out against all the people and groups that are slowly making it easier for the lobbyist , puppet politicians and dangerous judges to slowly destroy what is left of what once made America a great country are the greatest of the problem in this country.
I am not part of any ethnic groups and have nothing to say or do with the NAACP. But at least I am smart enough to know that they can not tell me what to do or not to do.
May be I should explain to you just what the NAACP is. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a civil rights organization for ethnic minorities in the United States. The key word here is organization. I am not a member, are you?
But even if I were, it would not mean that I have to agree with their or honor any of their request. You see all of us have a choice.
But I did notice that while the Myrtle Beach terrorized or harassed many of the Harley motorcycle tourists this spring, they did not do the same to the Atlantic Beach Bike Week Festival tourist. That is most assuredly due to the presence of the NAACP. It seems to me that any one whether black, white or any other ethnic group, should appreciate their presence in Myrtle Beach, if only to keep their inadequate legal system and small town government in check. I only wish there more groups like them out their putting pressure on these out of control town governments. It would not hurt if their were some real journalist that actually went out and uncovered the real truth and informed the people of what is going on behind the propaganda that most of these rags are pushing. Some one that is not afraid to rattle the cages of these little old men and women. Remember that are forefathers gave their lives for the very freedoms that so many of you now want to trade away for a few weeks of peace and quiet.
So get it straight. Order a boycott or request that members support a boycott. Which is it?
Either way it does not matter be cause they are only an organization can not order anyone other than their paid employees and even then they too still have a choice.
I am not sure just you are pretending not to know, but I would imagine that you have your own racial and political agenda. SO I AM GOING TO NOW ORDER YOU TO STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE CONFEDERATE FLAG, ATLANTIC BEACH, AND RACIAL ISSUES AND START STANDING UP FOR THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OR GO BACK TO WHERE EVER IT IS THAT YOU CAME FROM.
Don’t know where you have been nightshift but NAACP ordered a boycott on the state of South Carolina.
There has been no recall of that boycott.
Now I just wonder, as I already stated, when and how does that boycott work?
Seems to be in force only selectively.
That was my question and I still have no answer.
Just where does this do what you are told, or do what we say mentality come from? Ever heard of Freedom of Choice? Oh that’s right it’s the bible belt where every one must bow down to abusive peer pressure and behave, as mandated by the Grandwazoo. The NAACP does not tell people that they must boycott any more than the motorcycle are telling everyone that they must boycott Myrtle Beach. It is a choice. Boycotting is an effective protest tool. One of the only two things that your politicians will listen to. You see everything else aside, they still care about re-election and money for their pet projects. Now I am just sitting back and waiting for some one to build a much overpriced, very long winding deck on the beach and calling it a board walk. I am sure all these old egotistical fools will put in lots of curves, benches, and bushes for all the criminals and crack heads to hide behind. Law enforcement is going to have fun trying to maintain control on your ship of fools. When are you peopling going to open your eyes and wake up?
Yes I did lose. I can no longer feel safe, going into or through Myrtle Beach. Some of the places that I used to go to are now out of business, with more to follow. How insane is it that I can ride with out a helmet all over South Carolina, but not in Myrtle Beach, Or that people with their jacked up trucks with loud glass packs are not being harassed. I for one, have no desire to help your desperate little town pay their bills by allowing you to ticket me on a bike or in a car. Yes everyone now knows about the constant state of police harassment in Myrtle Beach. You too will not be happy when they start sucking more money out of all of you that live inside city limits. I have heard that in the near future they will be placing higher fees and more restrictions on golf carts and may require child safety seats and helmets on them. So you just might hold off on the golf cart fad or hurry up and sell the one that you already have. This is just the start and for you fools that are ok with some of the illegal and irresponsible actions of your runaway out of control town rulers, you must be blind. This is not a whole lot different than book burning or taking away the peoples write to freedom of assembly. You might think that the ends justify the means, but they could have gone about their selective tourism in so many other ways, that would not have destroyed the reputation of the Grand Strand. So as far as pre-season and post-season go all you have done is to run off the older, wiser, mature money people, which will now be replace by younger, less mature people that will not spend much money at all. Some of you say get over it. But it is not over. And there are quite a few, good law respecting citizen like my self that can not and will not stomach the kind of actions that are taking place in the town of Myrtle Beach. Just keep being ugly or supporting this kind of regime and reap what you sew.
nightshift_"unless you are an old white golfer. Remember, you reap what you sew.“
Nightshift, don’t do that. Don’t make this or the new laws in Myrtle Beach a race thing because you and I and every one else knows that is not so.
It was more for quality of life as I see it than anything else.
Just don’t lower us all and try to throw racism into this.
Speaking of the NAACP and their supposed boycott of South [Carolina] (YES I can spell that right) has nothing to do with race WHATSOEVER. Everyone needs to grow up and get off the [idiotic] race wars.
Pls note that I used idiotic correctly. Not to insult anyone but to call that old tired dangerous idea of hate for color what it is.
NAACP is being called on to get off the fence and stand on one side or the other. Either all involved are going to get off the fence or South Carolina is going to continue to stay undermined.
I agree Angleswalk, I’m also wondering when the NAACP will call a news conference or release a statement urging all black folk to boycott the Atlantic Beach bike ralley. But wait, that won’t happen because black folk like that bike stuff more than they like baseball. Your right Angleswalk, the NAACP only calls for a boycott when it is convenient. They are such a hypocritical organization among other things.
nightshift"Forget about the NAACP and the Confederate flag. Not everyone cares about the flag. “
HOW can we forget that? naacp won’t let us until or unless it benefits them. They are the ones who are suppose to be boycotting South Carloina.
I asked a question.
Does the NAACP boycott only apply when they say it does or all the time? Seems selective to me.
Nightshift, maybe your biker buddys would be ok if they didn’t think they are above having laws apply to them the same as everyone else. Personally if drivers are so crazy out there, I think I would be glad to protect my head just in case. You have no problem wearing leather to help protect. Leather gets hot and uncomfortable too.
Hey Nightshift - get over it. You lost. Myrtle Beach will be better than ever.
