Dispelling Myths and Finding Hope in the Bible’s Most Difficult Book: 11 a.m. to noon and 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 15. Pastor Phil Thrailkill of St. Luke United Methodist will teach 16 sessions. The teaching method used will be a scripture sheet laying out the structure of the passage, followed by a lecture on the history, rhetoric and theological insights of the text.

Open Prayer: Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at the Wesley United Methodist Church sanctuary, corner of College Avenue and Fourth Street. All are welcome to come in and pray. This is a time of personal prayer; no program is planned. The community is invited to just come and sit or kneel at the altar and open their hearts to God.
