Wal-Marts’ new Teacher Rewards Program helps 10 teachers at Easterling Primary, Marion Intermediate School and Johnakin Middle School offset rising expenses for classroom supplies.

Teachers from Easterling Primary, Marion Intermediate, and Johnakin Middle School received Wal-Mart gift cards for the purchase of classroom supplies during a reception at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in this past week. Wal-Mart began the “Teacher Rewards Program” in 2009 as an effort to support public education and provide additional school supplies for teachers.
Wal-Mart management and staff hosted the reception, where teachers and administrators were presented with the gift cards.
Teachers often spend hundreds or more of their own personal funds to meet the needs of students and enhance instructional activities in their classrooms.

Retailers presented reward cards to 10 teachers at an Award Presentation Ceremony at Wal-Marts in Marion.
Selected randomly by the school’s principal, Angie Grice, Sharon Crowne and Jason Bryant each teacher will receive a $100 Teacher Reward Card at an award presentation ceremony at Wal-Mart #1829.
During the presentation ceremony the school principals and Wal-Mart Representative addressed the crowd and highlighted the ways in which the Teacher Reward Cards will benefit classrooms the schools.
