The Hartsville High School boys’ cross country team won Wednesday’s meet at Kelleytown Stadium with 40 points, followed by Camden with 42, Darlington with 54 and the Governor’s School with 86. The Hartsville girls tied for first place with Darlington with 28 points.

During the competition, the players have to run 3.1 miles (5K). The lowest score wins. Teams must have at least five participants to earn points at meets, but even with fewer members teams can still run.

The next three meets will be held 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Freedom Florence, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at Darlington and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Kelleytown Stadium.
