Chamber to launch new website Oct. 14
The Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce will launch its new Web site on Oct. 14 at the Hartsville Memorial Library with a drop-in beginning at 5 p.m. View the new site, watch a demonstration on how chamber members may build a personal members-only profile, and learn how to use social media marketing strategies to further promote your business on sites like Facebook, Twitter and blogs. Members and non-members are welcome to attend. Additional workshops will be held at the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce.

Realtors graduate leadership class
Barbara Jordan of the Kershaw County Board of Realtors and Roger Kirby of the Pee Dee Realtor Association graduated from the annual class of LeadershipSCR, a comprehensive leadership program conducted by the South Carolina Association of Realtors on Sept. 17 at the South Carolina Realtors annual conference in Columbia. The program is designed to improve leadership skills, productivity and community involvement and consisted of four retreats from February to September.
Roberson named to board
Dr. Frank G. Roberson, superintendent of Marlboro County Public Schools, was introduced as a new board member of the Northeastern Technical College Board of Trustees on Sept. 22 at the board’s meeting in Bennettsville.
Business Leader of the Year
S.C. Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its 2009 Business Leader of the Year is Emerson Gower, who retired July 1 from Progress Energy in Florence with 38 years of service.
YMCA Friend Month begins Thursday
Hartsville YMCA announces Friend Month for October. The theme is football! During October, members can pick up “Season Pass” cards from the front desk and help recruit new members to be on the Y Team!
