Nichols holds first annual golf tournament

The town of Nichols hosted the first annual Nichols Golf Tournament at Pineland Country Club Oct. 21.
“I think we had very good turnout with the maxium amount teams available to play,” Nichols Mayor Lawson Battle said.
Town Council member Michael Elliott said the town thanks the more than 60 sponsors and 27-four man teams.
“I thought the tournament was great and the hard work of the Mullins Chamber of Commerce along with the golfers help a lot,” Elliott said.
The players on the winning team were Jimmy Johnson, Sammy Baughman, Debbie Hayes and Gene Hooks.
