Little Miss and Teen Miss Pageants return to Center Theater

For the 36th consecutive year, the Center Theater in Hartsville will be the site for the Little Miss and Teen Miss Hartsville and Darlington County beauty pageants. This event is a double pageant with winners crowned in each category, one representing Hartsville and one Darlington County. Winners will represent each area for 2009-10 and go on to compete in the state pageant in June.

The competition opens at 4 p.m. Saturday with the Miss Tiny Tot (age 2) contests and ends with the crowning of Teen Miss Hartsville and Teen Miss Darlington County.

Categories for the pageant are Miss Tiny Tot (age 2), Wee Miss Tiny Tot and Little Miss Tiny Tot (ages 3-4), Wee Miss (ages 5-6), Little Miss (ages 7-9), Young Miss (ages 10-12), Young Miss Teen (ages 13-15), and Teen Miss contestants (ages 16-19).

The Little Miss and Teen Miss South Carolina Pageant, also held at the Center Theater, is a statewide contest with over 200 contestants in the various age groups. It awards over $38,000 in scholarships to the winners.

Tickets for the local pageant are $5 and will be available at the door one hour prior to the competition. 

The contest is open to all young ladies between the ages of 2 and 19 (as of June 1, 2010).
