Wayne Wallace and Dwayne Gainey prepare for the grand opening of D&W Meat Market LLC today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 640 S. Fourth St. in Hartsville.
One of Hartsville’s newest businesses, D&W Meat Market, LLC, located at 640 S. Fourth St. (inside the Jiffy Print building), is having a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
Wayne Wallace and her son, Dwayne L. Gainey, owners of the business, opened it on Aug. 5. Regular store hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
“We thought Hartsville could support a meat market,” said Wallace. “We sell wholesale and retail.”
Wallace said they wanted to offer high quality meats at affordable prices. She said they offer the same prices for meat packaged in small quantities as is offered elsewhere in family-sized packages.
Wallace noted their steaks are in packages of two and pork chops are in packs of four.
D&W Meat Market offers a 25-pound meat box prepackaged for $35 that includes 5 lbs. of hamburger, 5 lbs. of pork chops, 5 lbs. spareribs, 5 lbs. chicken quarters and 5 lbs. chicken legs or thighs.
D&W Meat Market’s grand opening flyer advertises steaks for $5.99/lb. and steaks, roasts and hams cut to your specifications when pre-ordered with a two-day notice.
Gainey added they not only provide meat packaged in small quantities but also provide large quantities for special events.
“We can provide for tail-gaiting parties,” he said. They are also selling large orders to churches and civic groups for functions.
If you order on Wednesday for a tail-gaiting party, the order will be ready by Friday, Gainey said.
D&W Meat Market LLC accepts credit and debit cards and recently started accepting EBT cards.
