Stacye Drose has been named the regional Pee Dee International Reading Association Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010.

Stacye Drose has been named the regional Pee Dee International Reading Association Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010. 

Candidates representing districts throughout the Pee Dee competed for the regional title on Oct. 24 at the Florence County Library. 

Judges reviewed samples of teacher work displayed during the poster session portion of the competition. 

Each district representative also participated in a 10-minute interview with the judges. 

Drose was chosen from among other district winners as the region’s representative of excellence in literacy instruction. 

Drose, a veteran teacher at Marion Intermediate School will represent the PDIRA in February at the Regional Reading Conference in Myrtle Beach.
