When McBee High School students return to school in the fall, they will be see a new face in the principal’s office.

Plainview Elementary School Principal Dennis McDaniel has been named the principal of McBee High School.

Chesterfield County Superintendent Dr. John E. Williams administratively reassigned McDaniel. McDaniel will take over for Paul Anderson, who has accepted a position as principal at Ware Shoals High School.

“I am excited to be returning to McBee High,” said McDaniel. “The two years I spent there as assistant principal, working with (former
principal)  Skip Gering, were wonderful. I am familiar with the majority of the faculty and students already from that time, and I know it to be a great school because of them.”

McDaniel added that he appreciates the confidence that Williams, the school, the board and the community have shown in entrusting him to lead McBee High.
“I will do everything possible to honor that trust,” he said. “McBee High has a great history, and I will do what I can to embrace that history and improve upon it for the future.”

McDaniel also said his only regret is leaving Plainview.

“The faculty and staff, the students and the community have been so wonderful to me,” he said. “I am truly honored to be a part of the legacy of this school.”
Williams said he knows McDaniel will continue the tradition of academic achievement at McBee.

“Dennis knows McBee High well, and he’s done a wonderful job at Plainview,” the superintendent said. “I know that McBee High will continue to grow and prosper under his leadership.”

Anderson is returning to a community that is home for him and his family.

“Paul is returning to his high school and where his mother taught for many years,” said Williams. “He has done a great job at McBee High.

Change is never easy, but Paul tackled the issues that we mutually saw, and Paul has made a great school even better. He will be missed.”
