Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Darlington Sunday
DARLINGTON — Again this year, Pee Dee Health Care P.A. will sponsor the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner for Darlington.
This year’s dinner takes place at Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology from 12 to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Each year, the dinner provides a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all of the trimmings to all who attend.
In 2007, the doctors and staff of Pee Dee Health Care served more than 2,000 guests at the dinner.
“We’re grateful that Pee Dee Health Care can offer the community dinner year after year,” said Dr. Alex Cohen of Pee Dee Health Care.
“I’m looking forward to sharing good food with old friends, and making new friends,” said Dr. Joe Matthews, also of Pee Dee Health Care. “The Thanksgiving dinner is really just a slice of what our practice is all about — serving our community.”
Mayo High School is located at 364 Chestnut St. in Darlington.
Pee Dee Health Care organizers are grateful that other Darlington organizations are also committed to sharing this meal with their community. Nucor, the largest steel bar producer in the Southeast, is supplying the turkey and numerous area churches and other organizations will provide trimmings and volunteer support.
“With all of our supporters, we hope that even more people will come out and join us at our Thanksgiving table,” said Pee Dee Health Care CEO Tony Megna. “We invite everyone to celebrate our community, friendships and many blessings.”
Pee Dee Health Care is a multi-specialty family practice providing health care to the Pee Dee region for more than 30 years.
