Chamber golf tournament well represented

The Agape Hospice team came in first place with a score of 53, 19 below par, during the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce’s 9th Annual Hartsville Golf Classic Fundraiser at Hartsville Country Club on Friday.

Friday morning, 17 teams teed off to a shotgun start at Hartsville Country Club to raise money for the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce. The teams played captain’s choice or scramble where the best shot is taken at each hole.

Suzanne Morris with Advance Wellness gave willing participants mini-massages before they headed out to the greens.

Agape Hospice won the tournament with a score of 53, 19 below par for the course. Jackson Chiropractic came in second 17 under par with a score of 55, and Carolina Bank came in third place after a playoff with 57.

Other team scores were SPC Credit Union with 57, American Trophy with 58, Palmetto Outdoor Agriculture with 58, Sonoco Team One with 59, Sonoco Team Two with 59, Pee Dee Electric Cooperative with 62, Mutual Savings with 63, Hilex Poly with 65, Darlington County Water & Sewer Authority with 65, LifeCare Hospice with 65, Heritage Community Bank with 66, Pepsi with 69, AT&T with 69 and Moore Beauston & Woodham LP with 75.

Each winning team member received a trophy from American Trophy, a Sonoco towel and Callaway golf balls.

Suzy Folk of the Jackson Chiropractic team had a true eagle, a 2 on a par 4. She knocked her second shot in from 130 yards. Nic Isom won the prize for the longest drive on hole 9, and Karl Smith won the prize for closest to the pin on hole 11. In the 50/50 drawing, Mike Klim from the Pepsi team won $155.

The chamber also distributed several door prizes ranging from golf balls to chairs. Ladd McDonald won the biggest door prize, a new recliner from BoSmith Furniture. Other winners included Dick Coker from Carolina Bank, Karl Smith from Carolina Bank, Suzy Folk from Jackson Chiropractic, Bobby Matthews from American Trophy, Willis Britt from Sonoco, Kelly Blackmon from Pee Dee Electric, Jeff Powell for LifeCare Hospice, Frank Hough from DCW&SA, Charles Howard from American Trophy, Gene Norwood from Carolina Bank, Gary Matthews from Hilex Poly, Kale Byerly from Agape, Kevin Myers from Pee Dee Electric, Don Watson from Moore Beauston & Woodham, Jim Jernigan from AT&T, Nic Isom from Palmetto Outdoors, Mark Watkins from Agape, William Fleming from DCW&SA and David Coker from SPC.
