Animal shelter to have Grand Opening, Open House

The Marion County Animal Shelter, managed by Paws to the Rescue, will have a Grand Opening and Open House to raise money and awareness in the caring of the county’s animals.
From 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday the shelter will be the site of a microchip clinic, pony rides, a fishing contest, dunk the dogcatcher, game, funnel cakes and homemade strawberry shortcakes, face painting, a “jumpy house” for the kids, yard sale and much more, Shelter Manager Jennifer Nall said.

Microchip inplants will be offered for $25 each, along with half-price grooming and nail trimming ... Food vendors will also be onhand for the day’s activities. Come and support the abandoned shelter animals, Nall said.
