St. John AME Church to have Bible Study

Canaan Land Revival Temple to have Gospel Banquet
On Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. Canaan Land Revival Temple will be having a Gospel Banquet at the Rem Care Ball Room, 504 N. Main St. Marion.

Mullins High School of 1969 to hold 40th class reunion
The Mullins High School Class of 1969 will hold its 40th class reunion at Margaret’s Lounge on Friday, November 27, 2009 starting at 6 p.m.

Bethlehem AME Church to have fall revival
Bethlehem AME Church invites the public to their fall revival. The revival will commence Monday Nov. 16 and will conclude on Friday, Nov. 20. Services will begin nightly at 7 p.m. The revivalist for the occasion will be Rev. R. L. Brown of Bethel-Britton’s Neck AME Church.

Church to have its third annual jamming for Jesus celebration
Bethlehem AME Young People Division and Praise Dance Team will be hosting their Third Annual Jamming for Jesus Celebration, Sat, Nov. 28, beginning at 1 p.m. We will have youth choirs, praise dancers, mimes, other talents and gifts.

Trinity Behavioral Care Prevention to have family summit
Trinity Behavioral Care Prevention will be having a family summit at Marion County Technical Center, in classroom B, Thursday, Nov. 19, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
There will be talks on drug awareness, community awareness and family awareness.
They will have activities, prizes, food and more.

Board to have monthly meeting
The Marion-Dillon County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs will hold their regular board meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Marion Center, 400 Martin Luther King Blvd. Marion.

Rotary Club of Mullins to hold Annual Fish Fry
Mullins Rotary Club will have their Annual Fish Fry on Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Old Spivey’s Service Center on Highway 76 in Mullins.
We appreciate those who have supported Rotary in the past, enabling to serve projects in our community.

First Steps to hold training on childcare
Marion County First Steps will offer three trainings on childcare standards. Nov. 14 will focus on Professional Development. Nov. 21 and Dec. 19 focus on Growth and Development. All trainings will take place at Pleasant Grove Academy located at 1333 Penderboro Road Marion. Each training will be from 9 a.m. to noon.
Participants may earn up to 3 DSS credits hours for each training. Registration is $10 for each training and must be paid three day prior to the training date. To register, please call 843-230-3742 or 843-423-8207.

Church to hold annual Harvest tea services
The Pastor’s Support Ministry of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Marion invites you to join them in their annual Harvest Tea services on Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. The guest messenger will be the Rev. Montele Burton, Pastor of Red Hill Baptist Church, along with his church family of Britton’s Neck.

Marion recreation holding winter sport registrations
The City of Marion Recreation will be holding sign-ups Nov.2-19 for youth basketball ages 6-17. You may register 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Watsonia Center.
Children’s birth certificates are required.

Church to have program
Bishop J. E. McKelvy along with Canaan Land Revival Temple would like to invite you to “Wake Up” and its purpose is to get our youth to realize that time is winding up. Grace Community Church to sell dinners      
The Ladies Ministry of Grace Community Church will have their 2nd annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 20 from 10.00 am until 2:00 pm. You can pick up or when ordering five or more dinners we’ll deliver.
The plates will include turkey and dressing with giblet gravy, yams, green beans, cranberry sauce, bread and dessert.

Advent Annual Bazaar coming soon
Saturday, Nov. 21 will be the Episcopal Church of the Advent’s annual Bazaar.  Doors will open at 10 a.m. and close around noon.  We will have baked goods, frozen casseroles, appetizers along with a few crafts and yard sale items.  Hot coffee and hot chocolate will be served as well as chicken salad sandwiches made by Patricia Owens. Everyone is invited to come, enjoy a Saturday morning and stock up for the Holidays.

The public is invited to a Christmas Gospel Celebration at St. James AME Church, Ariel Crossroad 5333 S. Highway 41 Marion.
On Dec. 12 doors open at 3 p.m. and the program starts at 4 p.m.
The legendary singing stars: The Spiritual Uplifters, The Royal Lights, Pat Crawford and One Spirit, Lonnie Riggins and The Travelers, Tri County Male Choirs and also Northeast Conference Sons of Allen St. James Church Choir.
There will be best dress contest and prizes.
