Efforts to improve J.V. Martin Junior High School continue

Dillon School District 2 Superintendent Ray Rogers and other district administrators met with the State Board of Education during a regular meeting Wednesday to present evidence of the district?s efforts to improve the professional development, curriculum and facilities at J.V. Martin Junior High School. Rogers and J.V. Martin principal Amanda Burnette provided information on discussed facility improvements, leadership team meetings and curriculum changes.

Governor?s School extends summer research program

The Summer Program for Research Interns (SPRI) at the S.C. Governor?s School for Science and Mathematics in Hartsville is a statewide outreach program designed to pair academically talented high school students with scientist mentors in research laboratories across the state for a six-week, hands-on internship. Fields of research include medicine, computer science, engineering, microbiology, nanotechnology and more.
