Thomas Hart Academy 2008/2009
The 2008 school year at Thomas Hart Academy will welcome a record breaking 205 students to school.
This is one of the largest numbers of students to enroll at Thomas Hart in its 38-year history. This number has grown by approximately 72 percent over the last two years. School officials are eagerly anticipating some wonderful opportunities as a result of this change.
In the Kindergarten Center, classes are bursting at the seams. They have filled their 3K and 5K classes and split 4K into two sections. The school has also welcomed several new people to the staff in the Kindergarten Center to assist with the education of these little ones.
Ms. Amber Doughty comes to us to assist Mrs. Susan Williams in the 3K class, while Ms. Jenny Kirk is the new 4K teacher and compliments Mrs. Chure’ Galloway.
Mrs. Mandy Murph comes to the school locally from Coker College to teach the 5K students. School officials are delighted with the growth and opportunity that the Kindergarten Center presents.
Elementary grades are experiencing growth as well. The first-grade has split into two sections with Mrs. Denise Brown teaching one and Mrs. Becca Moree the other. Grades two, three and four are nearly full, and the school is hosting record numbers in sixth-grade. The school admits it takes great pleasure Ms. Miranda Burton as the science teacher and Ms. Karen Trudeau in grammar.
