No opposition for school board members

All four incumbents up for re-election to the Darlington County Board of Education will run unopposed in this year’s general election.

School board members Connell Delaine of Society Hill, Warren Jeffords of Lamar, Charles Govan of Hartsville and Jamie Morphis of Hartsville all filed to run again this year. No other candidates filed. The filing period ran from Aug. 1 - 15.

Delaine serves in the District 2 board seat, Jeffords in District 4, Govan in District 6 and Morphis in District 8.

School board elections in Darlington County are nonpartisan.

This year’s general election takes place on Nov. 11.
