One Pee Dee high school’s students passed HSAP on first try in 2007
Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology in Darlington County School District is the only high school in the Pee Dee to have 100 percent of its 10th-grade students pass both the state?s English language arts and math High School Assessment Program (HSAP), or exit exams, the first time, according to results released Friday by the state Department of Education.

Voters could determine the future of Florence District One facilities
A vote Tuesday could determine major changes for schools in Florence District One, but it could also come at a price. Voters in Florence School District One will vote Tuesday on a $125,000,000 bond referendum. School board leaders said if it passes the money will be used to deal with over crowding by building new schools and replacing old buildings, but if it passes it will cause a tax increase.
