A dancer and choreographer, Joy Spears has been spreading her love and inspiration for dance across the United States and Canada for several years.
Now, you have a chance to learn from Spears on Saturday. The meet and greet begins at 8:30 p.m. with an intermediate level hip-hop class from 9 to 10 p.m. and an advanced level contemporary jazz class from 10:30 p.m. to midnight at Dizzy Dancin, 129 E. College Ave. Cost is $40 and includes master class, wristband and souvenir poster for autographs.
At the age of 18, Spears was apart of Top 20 Finalist on the Fox Hit Television Show, “So You Think You Can Dance.” After spending the summer in L.A. filming, Joy signed with MSA Talent Agency and made the move from Alabama to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a professional dancer.

Spears can be seen in print ads across the country for American Idol, in fature flms, award shows and music videos.

After working in Los Angeles for almost two years, Spears was offered a two-year contract to dance alongside the legend, Bette Midler, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, however, she declined the contract in order to attend the University of Alabama on scholarship where she is studying Broadcasting and Dance. She loves the entertainment industry and having the opportunity to study communication broadcasting as well as continuing her dance career as a performer, choreographer and inspiring teacher.
Spears loves the young, aspiring dancers and aims to give back all that she learned from those who have mentored her throughout the years.
