Brined turkey and savory herb gravy is just right for Thanksgiving

Today I’m printing a recipe for brined turkey and Savory Herb Gravy. The brining process takes 12 to 24 hours, starting with a thawed turkey, so if you want to try this, plan accordingly and add extra time to your preparations. Next week we will finish up with a couple of light dessert recipes.

Miss Darlington Pageant Saturday

The Miss Darlington Scholarship Pageant committee presents “To Darlington with Love” this Saturday at the St. John’s Elementary School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Some of Wesley United Methodist Church’s best cooks prepared food for Wednesday night’s Annual Taste of Wesley. Church members and friends gathered for the event in All Saints Hall.

South Carolina’s Outstanding Miss Pageant was held on Oct. 31 in Hartsville.  This project raised more than $2,000 for Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.

For 25 years, First Baptist Church in Hartsville has held a Missions Bazaar the first weekend in December to raise money for foreign missions. This year’s bazaar is Dec. 5 beginning at 8 a.m. in the Family Life Center at First Baptist on East Home Avenue.
