Openings are still available for Mobile Mammography Unit stop in Florence

The Digital McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit will be at Schofield ACE Hardware in Florence on Wednesday, January 14.  Schofield is located at 155 South Cashua Drive.  The Mobile Mammography Unit will be there from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Digital McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit brings state-of-the-art digital mammography technology, board certified technologists, and breast health education to you in a convenient, comfortable and private setting.

To be eligible for a mammogram on the unit you must meet the following criteria:
- Must have insurance or a method of payment. No cash please.
- Must have a referring physician to send the results to.
- Must be 40 years of age or older and not have breast implants.
- Must not have any current breast problems such as lumps, discharge, or swelling.
- Must not be pregnant and not have nursed within the past three months.
- Must not have had a screening mammogram performed in the past 12 months.
- Must not have been diagnosed with breast cancer within the past five years.

Screening mammograms only will be performed on the unit. A screening mammogram is an annual mammogram used to detect breast cancer in women with no signs or symptoms of breast cancer and who meet the above criteria. No physician order is required.

on the mobile unit, and the date and location.  Please plan to spend about 15 - 30 minutes on the unit.
