Father, son’s growing pains
Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another Cecil’s World in Print. The older I get, the more I know how precious time is with your family. I now appreciate every moment I can with my family. When my son was growing up, I tried to be there for all of his sports and I was there for most of them, but I missed some because I had to work. I was a young reporter making a name for myself and being the best was what I wanted and sometimes I neglected my family.

Cookouts, July Fourth go hand-in-hand
Hello, everyone, I’m back with another Cecil’s World in Print adventure. I promise to add a little excitement and fun to help you get your week started. I’m just returning to work after being off for the Fourth of July. My son Jeff and his family were here for an entire week and we had a ball. How many of you grilled out for the Fourth? Well, if you did not cook out, how many of you went to the beach or the lake for a little fun and relaxation? Whatever you did, I am sure you indulged in a lot of food and fun. The Fourth of July is considered to be one of, if not the, biggest family cookout days for the entire year.

How to properly use cell phones in modern society
Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another Cecil’s World in Print. Remember the Verizon cell phone commercial “Hello? Can you hear me now?” I really think everybody can hear you now. It’s so crazy, cell phones are everywhere! The technology is incredible. You can do just about anything with your cell phone. A few weeks ago, WBTW News13 gave us new cell phones and some of us got a BlackBerry. I am so glad I did not get one of those. I looked at one of those high-tech phones but had no idea how to work it. I think a degree in electronics will help you or make sure you keep the directions with you while using it.

How to deal with litter bugs
It was a beautiful summer morning and I was on my way to work when it happened. I had the window down, enjoying the fresh morning air, when I stopped for a red light. That’s when I saw this lady look at me, smile and thumb a cigarette butt out of her window. I could not believe it. I wanted to scream at the lady and say, “Why are you being a litter bug?”
