Charity Jo McManus and James Joshua Ard, both of Florence, were married at 6 p.m. May 2, 2009, at Greenwood Baptist Church.
The Rev. Lee Phillips of Latta United Methodist Church performed the ceremony.
The bride, escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roni Lee McManus of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dewey McManus Jr. of Florence and the late Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Foster Altman of Florence.
She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is employed with Palmetto Spine and Sports Medicine of Columbia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Wendell Ard Jr. of Florence. He is the grandson of Mrs. James A. McNeill and the late Mr. James A. McNeill of Raleigh, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Wendell Ard of Latta. He attended College of Charleston and is employed by Prudential Financial Inc. of Columbia.
Matron of honor was Lindsay Scruggs Boatwright.
Best man was James Wendell Ard Jr., father of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Erin Denise Ard, sister of the groom; Heyward Rebecca Dodkin; Ashley Nicole English; Lacey Matthews Gibbons; Ashley Illingworth Gordon; Lacey Willis McDonald; Marlee Amanda McManus, cousin of the bride; Kelley Katherine Norris; and Alexa Chase Pack.
Groomsmen were David Leroy Bailey III; Daniel Naaman Gause; Oliver Garrison Goldstein; James Hampton Manning; Roni Lee McManus Jr., brother of the bride; Patrick Lucas McPherson; Clary Edward Rawl Jr.; William Christopher Turner; and Jeffrey Ryan Watts.
Ushers were Benjamin Bruce Sanford and Patrick Charles Donnelly.
Program attendants were Ashley Crump Rawl and Natalie Louise Zimmerman.
Flower girls were Hailey Rhea McManus and Hannah Grace McManus, nieces of the bride.
Soloist was Mrs. Ellen Free Dietrich. Guitarist was Mr. Edward Dewey McManus III, cousin of the bride.
A reception followed at the Florence Country Club.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Columbia.
