Cook-Drake
Elizabeth Coleman Cook and Thomas Hayes Drake, both of Conway, were married Oct. 25, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach.
The Rev. Dr. Robert C. Wilkes performed the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. John Furman (Linda) Finklea and the late Mr. Benjamin Leroy Cook. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Coy Tomlinson of Scranton, Mr. Herbert Benjamin Cook of Florence, and the late Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Cook.
She is a graduate of Francis Marion University, the Medical University of South Carolina and Emory University. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner with Palmetto Pediatrics in Conway.
The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Curtis Drake of Forest Acres in Columbia, is the grandson of Mrs. Robert Hazen McDougall of Forest Acres and the late Mr. Robert Hazen McDougall, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis N. Drake.
He is a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School and attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College. He is co-owner of Lowcountry Landscaping in Conway.
Maid of honor was Carrie Michele Owen.
Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Erin Brown, Teresa Boyd Cyganiewicz, Mary Elizabeth Munn Stalvey, Crystal Harrell Olsen, Lisa Goodwin Blackwell and Suzanne Cook Baranoski, cousin of the bride.
Flower girls were Tayler Marie Butkus, godchild of the bride, and Samantha Riley Grace Olsen.
Best man was Samuel Curtis Drake, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were Jody Lamar Altman; John Benjamin Boyd; Robert Hazen McDougall III, cousin of the groom; Stephen George Barb; John Charles Drake and Robert Jamison Drake, brothers of the groom; and Michael Benjamin Cook, brother of the bride.
Ushers were David Blakely Burnside Jr. and Paul Blake deTreville.
Ring bearers were Samuel Grey Drake, nephew of the groom, and Samuel Collin McDougall, cousin of the groom.
The pillow carried by the ring bearer was made from the mother of the bride’s wedding veil.
Acolytes were Robert Hazen McDougall IV, cousin of the groom; Jonas Thomas Baranoksi, cousin of the bride; and Kevin Greyson Olsen.
Readings were given by Hyatt Thomas Drake, sister-in-law of the groom, and Mary Elizabeth Collins McDougall, cousin of the groom.
Wedding music was performed by Rebecca Nissen, harpist; James Canty, trumpet; Noreen O’Riley, soprano; and Brown Bradley, organist.
The wedding reception was held at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
After a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple will reside in Conway.
