Braxton-Shady

Courtney Michelle Braxton of Scranton and Michael Daniel Shady of Scranton were married May 16, 2009, at Gilead Free Will Baptist Church.
The Rev. Larry McAlister performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Michael and Linda Braxton of Scranton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Jackie Lee of Florence, Ms. Janie Wilkes of Scranton, and Mr. and Mrs. Barney Braxton of Scranton. She is a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College and is employed by Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.
The groom is the son of Mr. Jerry Shady of Olanta and Ms. Patti Shady of Scranton. He is the grandson of Ms. Angilene Lynch and Ms. Bonnie Shady of Scranton, and the great grandson of Ms. Ethelda Lee of Lake City.
He is a graduate of Francis Marion University and is employed by Aaron’s Inc., in Lake City.
Maid of Honor was Ms. Devon Coward, friend of the bride.
Best Man was Mr. Shea Shady, cousin of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Ms. Heather Knight, sister of the groom, and Ms. Holly Shady, sister of the groom.
Groomsmen were Mr. Dan Tedder, friend of the groom, and Mr. Will Dorrell, friend of the groom.
Flower Girl was Ms. Sarah Davis, friend of the couple.
Ring Bearer was Mr. Joah Knight, nephew of the groom.
Registry Attendants were Ms. Haleigh Altman, Ms. Cheyenne Courtney, and Ms. Miranda Courtney.
Usher was Mr. Shane Braxton, brother of the bride.
A reception followed in the Family Life Center of Gilead Church in Lake City.
After a wedding trip to Pilot Mountain, NC, the couple lives in Olanta, SC.
