Amber Colette Bennett of Turbeville and John Clark Floyd of Florence were married at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence. Dr. David R. Wike performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robert “Rod” Bennett of Turbeville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Edward Neel, Sr. of Olanta and Mr. and Mrs. William Lavon Bennett of Turbeville. She is a graduate of East Clarendon High School and Florence Darlington Technical College with an Associate degree in business and is employed by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Emory Floyd, Jr. of Florence. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Eugene Clark of Quincy, Florida and Mr. and Mrs. John Emory Floyd, Sr. of Florence. He is a graduate of West Florence High School and is employed by Floyd Financial Services.
Maid of Honor was Miss Staci Lynn Neel, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Laci Nicole Neel and Miss Kimberly Denise Neel, cousins of the bride and Miss Victoria Jean Floyd, sister of the groom. Best man was Mr. John Emory Floyd, Jr., father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Robert Keith Bennett and Mr. David Adam Bennett, brothers of the bride and Mr. Andrew Wilton Matthews, best friend of the groom. Flower girl was Miss Sarah Brianna Welch, cousin of the bride. Ring bearer was Mr. Christopher Edward Welch, cousin of the bride.
Guestbook attendants were Miss Courtney Michelle Harris, cousin of the groom and Mr. Timothy Scott Neel, cousin of the bride. Music was performed by Miss Anna Irene Watford, violinist.
A reception was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Family Life Center. After a wedding trip to the mountains, the couple will reside in Florence.
