Road To Recovery Tour coming to Florence

An innovative effort to share information on the Recovery Act at Savannah River Site (SRS) is coming to Florenceon Oct. 22. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) site’s Road To Recovery Tour will provide information on job training, employment assistance programs and information on remaining Recovery Act jobs at SRS to local residents. The tour stop will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Florence One-Stop Workforce Center, at 1558 W. Evans St., Florence.

Those who attend a Road To Recovery Tour stop learn how they can access job and training opportunities through State and Federal programs, such as the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). Participants can learn important tips on job interviewing skills, get assistance in building a resume and on how to secure free e-mail account services for their job searches via the Internet. At each stop, epresentatives also share information on how people can apply for a Recovery Act job at SRS.
