Progress Energy donated a check for a scholarship and math contest contribution.

The Progress Energy Scholarship will be distributed in two payments, $500 for the fall semester and $500 for the spring.

A special scholarship awards ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The math contest portion of the donation will be used to help fund the annual high school math contest on the college’s campus when area high school math teams come to compete. The next math contest is tentatively slated for Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Williamsburg Technical College.
