Nofal named medical director of Daymark Recovery Services

Florence native Dr. Philip Nofal has been named medical director of Daymark Recovery Services Inc.

Nofal attended Belmont Abbey College, the University of South Carolina Law School, and The Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his specialty in psychiatry at Wake Forest University and his subspecialty in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of North Carolina. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Clinical Faculty at Wake Forest University.

Nofal previously served as the director of specialized medical services for DAYMARK and was instrumental in starting a telemedicine program, as well as in the development of Daymark’s Facility Based Crisis Service that cares for both persons in psychiatric crisis as well as those in need of detoxification from drugs and alcohol.

Daymark Recovery Services Inc. is a private not-for-profit that serves 17 counties in North Carolina and serves 22,000 patients annually.
