Gallman-DeRienzo named Denmark Tech vice president

Dr. Vivian Gallman-DeRienzo has been named vice president for academic affairs at Denmark Technical College.
Gallman-DeRienzo previously served as the director of community outreach at Florence-Darlington Technical College. Her career in higher education spans more than 17 years in both Illinois and South Carolina. She has earned certification as a Curriculum Development facilitator and as a Global Career Development facilitator. She has received national distinction as the recipient of the National Academic Advising Association’s Certificate for an Outstanding Faculty Advising Publication and the National Center on Work and Education’s Disabled Student Services Exemplary Approach Award. In addition, she has presented at numerous state and national conferences, to include the League for Innovation and the Council for the Study of Community Colleges. She also serves on a number of local and state boards.
Gallman-DeRienzo received a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Francis Marion University; a Master of Arts in human resources development from Webster University; a Certificate of Education from the Academy for Community College Leadership Advancement, Innovation, and Modeling Institute on Community-Based Programming; a Certificate of Graduate Study in Higher Education Leadership from the University of South Carolina; and a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education administration from the University of South Carolina.
