Florence Economic Development hires communications manager

Jessica Harrington has been hired by Florence County Economic Development Partnership as communications and membership relations manager.

The Florence resident, 33, will be in charge of recruiting and retaining members for the partnership, which was established in the 1980s by several of the county’s leading industries to provide support for economic development.

“I have lived and worked in Florence all my life,” Harrington said, “and this is a good chance for me to contribute to the growth of the community.”

Harrington previously worked as director of the Florence Area Literacy Council and for the Florence Civic Center. She is a South Florence High and College of Charleston graduate.
